Building Maintenance and Custodial Worker-24 hours/week
BUILDING MAINTENANCE AND CUSTODIAL WORKER – 24 hours/week – Portable Toilets (varied schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays)
Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department – Public Assembly Facilities Division –
Duties include outdoor restroom and portable toilet maintenance in parks, trails, parking garages and other locations through the city. This work will include cleaning and removing all trash from 17 portable toilets and 2 vault toilets. Duties also include performing routine facility maintenance as necessary and routine exterior maintenance, including snow removal. This work can accommodate a flexible schedule based on cleaning needs. Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy objects over an extended period of time; working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability to meet and deal courteously with the public; physical strength and agility necessary to perform the essential functions of the work. Must possess valid Class C driver’s license in good standing, and a reliable vehicle for work-use when applicable. Prior customer service experience desired. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.
Labor & Trades union position – Grade 14 – hourly rate starting at $19.61/hour, plus a $4.00/hour stipend for each hour worked cleaning portable toilets.
