Adjunct Faculty – Social Work (Writing for the Profession)

The Saint Joseph’s College Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Program seeks a part-time per-course non-ordinary faculty member to teach SW329: Writing for the Social Work Profession on campus for the Fall 2022 semester. The course schedule is: Monday and Wednesday 3:30-4:45pm. The semester begins August 29 and ends December 16.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program. Must have had MSW degree for at least two years.
Demonstrated mastery of relevant subject areas
Good organizational skills
Good written communication skills
Understanding of learning management systems (preferably Brightspace or Blackboard, eCollege, etc).
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching both traditional and adult learners
Competence in providing constructive feedback
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Experience with learning management systems (specifically, Brightspace)
Key expectations of the position:

Effectively interrelate the subject area with other relevant disciplines and to real-life experience
Develop and execute instructional plan for maximum learning
Maintain accurate records of instructional effectiveness
Actively engage with learners in a consistent manner
Develop productive relationship with learners, colleagues and Program Director/Chair
Constructively evaluate learners’ assignments and expeditiously provide feedback
Maintain accurate records of learner progress
Timely response to requests for information and/or action
Collaborate in developing, maintaining, improving and innovating courses, and their content
Employ appropriate instructional strategies in support of learning outcomes
Remain current in subject area
