This position is accountable for reporting timely and accurate financial transactions for monthly financial statements through the general ledger system and financial systems integration.  This position is responsible for month-end closings including making necessary journal entries, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, etc.  This position is a member of the Compliance Committee and assists with compliance regulations such as vendor management and contract review. This position assists the Controller with grant accounting, budgeting, audit schedules, financial reporting, and special projects as assigned.

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field with concentration in accounting is required.  Must have one to five years’ experience or internship in accounting or related field. Experience in grant accounting, public accounting and/or not for profit accounting a plus.  Confidentiality is of the utmost importance.  Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.

The candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail.  Accounting general-ledger packages preferred, Financial Edge a plus.  Must have the ability to multi-task and the ability of independent judgment.
