The Marketing Manager is a product expert, responsible for the inbound and outbound product marketing strategy to meet and exceed lead acquisition and conversion goals. As a member of the CGPS Marketing team, the Marketing Manager works cross-functionally with all units to identify and develop program-specific target audiences, personas, and market segments that align with the program value propositions. This position is responsible for managing and allocating marketing budgets, identifying campaign opportunities, creating compelling messaging, planning and executing campaigns, and aligning program-level marketing strategy with the College’s overarching marketing plan. The Marketing Manager is a brand steward for UNE Online, ensuring every initiative and deployed asset aligns with established standards to best represent our high-quality brand.
A successful candidate for this position will have experience developing marketing strategy for long-lifecycle product lines. The candidate will have a proven track record of fiscal responsibility and will be able to report on KPIs to prove ROI. The candidate will also show the capacity to learn deep-level knowledge about content areas such as: public health, teacher education, education leadership, social work, health informatics, applied nutrition, and/or the health sciences.

  • Leverage marketing automation technology to execute campaign initiatives, including (but not limited to) Salesforce Pardot and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Manage significant program marketing budgets, defending internal KPIs to prove ROI for marketing spends.
  • Coordinate and organize product-level campaigns that drive lead acquisition.
  • Become a product expert, working closely with program directors and other internal staff to refine audience segmentation/profiling and optimize the program offering and positioning in market.
  • Establish a personal and brand presence within industries to establish identity in the marketplace.
  • Create compelling marketing messages to drive inquiry generation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of website content and marketing material content, in alignment with UNE Online communication strategy.
  • Provide guidance to and execute sales materials such as sales sheets, communication plans, cultivation strategies, and customer service support.
  • Provide product-marketing support across the student lifecycle, including initiatives that may support student success, retention, and graduation.
  • Participate in regular analysis and provide recommendations on program performance in the areas of: sales, budgets, enrollments, customer satisfaction, demographics, response rates, and other key business drivers.

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all projects.
  • Collaborate with University offices including academic departments, admissions, financial aid, student accounts, and registrar.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or a related field, plus 2-4 years combined experience in marketing, advertising, campaign planning, lead generation, or a related area, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Plus:

  • Strengths in some or all essential marketing skills including (but not limited to): social media strategy, email marketing, lead nurturing, marketing automation, HTML, SEO, paid search, event planning, content curation, principles of design.
  • Strong campaign planning and implementation skills.
  • Ability to understand and report on KPI metrics.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation software (such as Pardot, HubSpot, Marketo, or other).
  • Working knowledge of a variety online and direct marketing strategies and tactics, with experience in enrollment management/marketing preferred.
  • Ability to acquire and apply in-depth product knowledge.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to develop strong cross-functional working relationships with multiple departments.
  • Ability to anticipate and provide prompt resolution on issues, and drive consensus among divergent groups.
  • Focused on quality and delivery of results.
  • Demonstrated fiscal responsibility.
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours at times to support marketing and enrollment goals.
